Dave is Swindon born and bred, has several children, one grandchild, a lovely patient wife, and a caravan!  A member of The Dorcan Church, Dave comes from a varied background, having had a variety of jobs from Bible Salesman and dry cleaner to Piano Teacher and Bus Driver.  although Dave has previously worked on other radio stations he now only comes out of radio retirement when Flame FM calls.

 

 

 

 deavesThe Deaves family         We are... Mary, Phil and Luke.  Swindon residents for 1/3 or all of our lives.  Mary and Phil have presented 'I can hear music' on Flame FM every year it has broadcast, and Luke helped by voicing some trailers last time.  What can you expect to hear this year?  It is quite possible that we will play Elvis, Lulu, the Beach Boys, Gene Vincent, Helen Shapiro, Reginald Dixon, the Blues Band or the Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band!  There's truly something for everyone.  Anything can happen in the next two hours.

Martin Parkes and Adam Gardner: Martin and Adam work for Christian Aid, helping people across the West Country think about and engage in global issues.  They are both passionate campaigners, who believe together we really can make a difference.

Rob Hilliar:

Rob works for BT and lives with his wife and two children in a village north-west of Swindon. He presented his first radio programme back in 1975 on hospital radio in Swansea and currently introduces a fortnightly request show on Sundays in Cirencester Hospital, where he is Chair of the Hospital Radio Station.  he also produces and presents on 'Corinium Radio', Cirencester's community radio station.  Rob won a New Christian Music Radio Mic Award last year for his promotion of Christian music.  Rob likes digestive biscuits in custard!

Radio has a lot to answer for in the Napier home - Chris and Liz met while presenting the Sunday Breakfast Show on Classic Gold radio back in the early 90's.  Liz found Chris's sense of humour ("Oh, not my good looks then?") so attractive, she finished up marrying him!  Chris also presented the weekday Breakfast Show in Swindon, and has fond memories of Wootton Bassett at five o'clock in the morning.  The pair have since worked on a number of stations in the West Country, including the Christian mission station, Trans World Radio in Bath, and enjoyed being involved with Flame FM from the beginning in 2000.  Be warned - their sense of humour is catching, and coupled with great music, fascinating interviews and astounding technical prowess, they will make your Saturday afternoons go with a swing!

David is a Methodist Minister based in Swindon.  He has been a minister for 2 years after spending the previous 20 years working in the banking industry.  (He assures us the credit crunch was not his fault!)  Married with a teenage son David was born in South Wales though has lived on this side of the Severn Bridge for over 25 years.

 Yemi Folayan & Laitan Williams:  Yemi & Laitan - could be like Richard and Judy only we're both ladies, not married and we're under 30.  We're fun loving young women, excited about life, in love with Christ and keen to show people it's not a drag being a Christian!  Yemi is a professional PR practitioner and Laitan is an assistant psychologist.  You've got to tune in to TMAI to hear our take on life - it might just blow your mind.

He started his broadcasting career in student radio, before joining Hospital Radio and now Community Radio. David Gibbs: David has been the Musical Director of Bath Road Church for over 25 years and puts the organ through its paces for our enjoyment.

Tom Benge: Tom lives in Swindon and is currently writing a novel based on his recent trip to Korea.

Phil was born to be in radio.  He has a huge collection of CD's and a vast knowledge of all things in the world of music.  He is one of the leading lights in Swindon Hospital Radio and also manages to find time to provide excellent music as a DJ for parties.

Well what can we say?  John's endless talents are innumerable and include professional acting as well as being involved with several amateur dramatic groups and the Kentwood Choir.  He has been responsible for getting the technical bits sorted for the station and it is down to him that we are actually on air (at least we hope we are/will be!)

Whilst I try and think of something to write in this space I can at least tell you that I am a frustrated musician - piano, guitar, sax and clarinet being just a few of the 17 instruments in my possession.  The phrase 'jack of all trades and master of none' springs to mind!  Although I'm not sure what the non-gender version of that is!  I love dancing and am a fan of 50's and 60's music although I enjoy other more modern music too!
